Our History
Founded in 1976, Maputo International School (M.I.S.) was established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education to provide quality education for the children of national and foreign diplomats, as well as international organization and company staff in Maputo. As demand for our services grew, M.I.S. expanded its admissions beyond its original group. Today, our school welcomes over 700 students from more than 40 nationalities, fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Proficiency in English is only required at the IGCSE and AS/A Level stages. For younger students, we provide intensive English language support to help those with limited knowledge of the language integrate smoothly. M.I.S. is a registered Cambridge Primary and Secondary School and an accredited Cambridge Examination Centre, ensuring a globally recognized standard of education. |
